This vigorous Jonquil is a selection, by Walter Blom, of the species N.rupicola (section Apodanthi). Registered twenty years ago we can only assume it was a parent for many of the descendants of his breeding programs. As a selection we assume that this bulbs is fertile both ways. An ADS Miniature.

A cross of two species pseudonarcissus, Gipsy Queen is a soft white and greenish-yellow miniature trumpet from Alec Gray. Queenie is a strong grower and commands attention in the bed, pot or on the bench. A tiny all-white trumpet from Brian Duncan, Gipsy Vale is a cross ofObvallaris and Gipsy Queen. Coy, pugnacious and perfectly formed Gipsy Vale is a very good variety for competition.

Jumblie is a sister of Tête à Tête and also a division 12. Floriferous and miniature, Jumblie has a will to live like the other Cyclataz family members. Good for pot culture and fun in the border. These 12s have a will to live and live to flower.

This named, New Zealand cross of a species jonquil and species cyclamineus has been around for at least 27 years, but new to our list in 2026. An ADS miniature Little Becky takes the profile of her cyclamineus father, yet she is multi-headed like her mother, landing her in that rare miscellaneous division twelve. With jonquil-like foliage she is a powerful and charming little thing: not your everyday daff.

Little Rusky is a really, really little Jonquil. Like the other bigger Ruskies we know, he is intense and rewards with painstaking attention to detail. When you catch a flash of the green eye, you too will understand. Handsome as the Tsar in form and color.

Miniatures can have a reputation of going AWOL after a season or two. Little Rusky has returned for duty, increasing, over the years for us with little care at all. The scape pushes the long lasting blooms higher and higher as the late season progresses. ADS Miniature.

Daffodil Mary Plumstead is an Alex Gray Triandrus Jonquilla cross. 2 to 5 blooms. ADS Classic

Mary Poppins is a platinum blonde with pale silver-yellow blooms that are tough and long lasting as a strict governess. Strong grower that can increase rapidly. Mary seems to tolerate Zone 6 but is probably happier in Zones 7 and 8. Dwarf and miniature

A diminutive and spirited fellow, Medway Gold punches well above his weight. A modern cultivar, a cross of species assoanus and Gipsy Queen Medway is a jonquil that sports a starry perianth and a deep cup. Smells good. Way cute. We find it to be a nearly perfect cultivar; it is also a trumpet. For us it returns and increases planted in the open garden. ADS miniature.

Minicycla Group, a very old N.cylcamineus x N.asturiensis cross. Pollen and pod fertile. Not a species, but only a single step away on both sides. Best of both worlds. Beyond charming.

A feisty little filly, Miss Klein is a jonquil hybrid, likely from Rupicola. Impossibly small bulbs make a vigorous plant, with often three ( four ?) blooms per stem. On the mini end of miniature she is a good one to have for the rock garden or cutting.

It is hard to find a description of a bulbocodium that does not use the hackneyed term "whimsical", along with the appellation " Hoop Petticoats" which went out of style like a century before the demise of Poodle Skirts. Two thirds of all bulbocodiums registered have been registered in this century , the 21st.

This family of narcissus have a will to live and bloom against all odds. But their beauty comes also from being something primordial, na‘ve and completely impractical in design. For such a small little flower they are full of pathos and joy. Mitimoto was bred in Tasmania and was one of the first products of a new wave in Bulbocodium breeding. A colorful silver and gold jonquil, Oma seems a little more compact and bright than Edged in Gold and New Baby, although I have yet to compare them side by side. Newer release: this daffodil is not registered.

The bulbocodium you will most likely find today in the commercial trade, Oxford Gold was widely adopted by large growers soon after its introduction,

A robust grower with an upright habit and full on chrome yellow color. Perhaps Oxford gets its virility and fragrance from its species Jonquil pollen parent. Probably not a miniature, makes a large bloom and plant for a 10.

Vigorous and consistent, Pacific Coast is a modern tazetta that stands out from the rest. Easy and bright with lots of perfectly formed flowers. A sport of Minnow, Pacific Coast is tall but not rangy, better organized and more substantial. ADS Miniature.

A little late 20th century Apodanthi x Apodanthi cross, Pequenita is a miniature, well-formed jonquil that grows well and is notably tidy and consistent : a natural show flower. Early. ADS Miniature.

A selection of species Asturiensis. Section pseudonarcissus. A primordial being with a formidable will to live. A tiny daffodil, so early, with purity in color and form. As this is a selection of a species, Carlos has named it Piccolini to differentiate. When this flower breaks free from the ground in early spring one's mood swells from hope to faith.

A species on species jonquil cross by Grant Mitsch that is upright and fabulous in the garden. Pixie's Sis has been around for a long while, but has suffered some major career setbacks through no fault of her own. A pugnacious, N.minor-like miniature trumpet from Brian Duncan, Punk has been hanging around the hood for a while but new to our list. From Candlepower.

Highly reflexed and richly colored, but not sulfurous, Razzmatazz is yet another entrancing elfin bloom from the late Mr Walter Blom. Floriferous with the spirit of a triandrus combines with the foliage and uplift of a jonquils. Multiple layers of charm on a stick.

A tiny, greenish yellow triandrus that is so wasp-waisted it looks like one half of an English Christmas cracker. Gets its sweet fragrance from its daddy, the jonquil henriquesii. ADS Miniature from Walter Blom.

Roundita is the overachieving student who perennially gets a desk in the front row. Named as such because she is so round all over, also a trumpet and a miniature. Behaves like a larger cousin : one scape, one bloom per bulb. Such a vigorous grower she will be voted most likely to succeed. Good in the pot, and and amenable playmate in the rockery.
