Snipe is early and photogenic. Extremely perennial and cyclamineus proud. A truly great cultivar that is at home in the rockery and in the pot. We are offering it in the cut flower category, its blooms are too small to cut, but forced in a pot it is long lasting and adorable : we think the florists will know how to use it.

Not to be confused with the 6 W-Y cyclamineus ´†Jack Snipe†ª, who is nice , but by comparison is lacking in charisma.

Snowboardis an all around athlete . An all-white large cup, this is a daffodil that is a stellar performer equally in a pot, in the border or on the show bench. Broad ovate petals and a touch of green in the cup. The dude is a van der Veek seedling.

Generate some garden power with this little trumpet that emulates a wind turbine. All white, fragrant, sunproof, windproof. A big planting will output a lot of spring electricity. From Walter Blom.

A sharp-elbowed miniature trumpet, Sugared Fruit is descended from Gipsy Queen. Crystalline form and confectioner's sugar-white blooms. Delectable. From Walter Blom.

On points alone, Alec Gray's Sun Disc is a perfect cultivar : Extremely late, rounded, miniature, long stemmed, long lasting, increases, looks right at you and smells good. Widely available, but we list it because you just need a few to get going. Sells on the cut market when all of the other daffs are long in the tooth.

Grant Mitsch did a lot of cyclamineus breeding, Swift Arrow is an older cross that has nearly oval petals and a rounded cup flare giving it an easy-going form and feeling. Fertile both ways.

Everything a cyclamineus should be, sharp, good in numbers, very early. But the Alliance is from Saint Keverne an older and fecund large cup daffodil.

A very dependable pink cupped cyclamineus, The Foxtrot is easily distinguishable by the evenly deep-colored cup. Easy to show and makes a nice clump in the rockery and garden bed.

Many breeders are in search of burn-proof small cups. If you have such a delicate and beautiful flower as Three of Diamonds you can avoid all that by plucking it early. An early seedling from Ms. Gripshover.

Triple Choice 3971

Miniature Trumpets sometimes struggle with substance, no so with the lovely Trousdale from the late Mr. Blom. Just brushes up against the the size limit as to what can be called a miniature.

Tuckeri is one of the rarest things that we have ever listed. A naturally occurring intersectional hybrid, it has been listed as a cross between N. hedraeanthus and N. fernandesii. But our Spanish friends say it is a cross between fernandesii and N.blancoi :

N. hedraeanthus is an endemism of the Cazorla Segura Mountains and the Villas. Remarkably different in size and shape. Besides, it's made of calcium soil and higher altitude. The N. Blancoi on the other hand is Sierra Morena endemism, acidic soil and doesn't require so much altitude. Larger in size and other morphology. I invite you to look in our publications both and compare them carefully. One more reason: Fernandesii is not in Hedraeanthus zones at all..
Inas De Bellard Pecchio

One of the last cyclamineus seedlings from Grant Mitsch, Vineland is about as reflexed as a cyclamineus cross can be. Smooth and even color overall.

Will Scarlet has been in the trade as long or longer than any other daffodil cultivar but we seldom see him around any more. Renown for his deep color and vigorous growth he was a commonly grown garden daffodil. Like many first generation crosses Billy boy is the product of two species daffodils : N. abscissus x N. radiiflorus var. poetarum. Being fertile both ways Will was bred a lot in his salad days, not so much lately to our knowledge. Tall and late, good for the border, sparse vista plantings, and cutting. ADS Historic.

N.willkommii Section Jonquilla A lovely and refreshing thing, we like to think that Ferdinand the Bull was put out to pasture in a field of Willkommii under the cork trees in Spain. Endemic to Spain and southern Portugal.

Alec Gray bred a lot of terrific miniature small cups : Segovia, Sundisc ; This Daffodil on DaffSeek but Xit has always caught our eye. White blossoms make a cumulus cloud-like display. Exciting in the bed and on the bench, there is a lot of joy to go around. Grows well and can make a tall stem. One of the very best in Narcissusdom.

Like one of our favorites, the miniature and spirited daff Xit, Yellow Xit is just as jubilant as its parent, but as you may surmise it has yellow in the corona. ADS Miniature. Not sure why this does not appear to be an ADS classic.
