Here's that tell-tale lipstick rim again, this time on a trim monochromatic yellow small cup from beautician Brian Duncan. A sharp and easy performer.

Copper-colored daffodils ( Orange with Red cups) are a most unusual creature. Sabine Hay is kind of well-known, but no commercial growers grow it. Richly colored and exquisitely detailed you will never forget the first time you see Sabine Hay. A super breeder.

Picasso may have said "Cezanne is the father of us all", whereas most modern pink cupped daffodils can claim "Dailmanach is the father of us all". A large ribbon taking pink cup, Sheskin is named after a place in Northern Ireland.

A small cup of sophisticated coloration and prim form. An older small cup, we see Sidley most often on the competition bench.

If you are looking for Yum-Yum, then its all white, flat, and improved small-cupped daughter Silver Choice from Brian Duncan is your best bet. Yum -Yum has met its demise and is no longer in our nursery. We have good numbers of Silver Choice, despite sounding like a Medicare supplement plan, it throws perfect blooms of good substance.

Grant Mitsch did a lot of cyclamineus breeding, Swift Arrow is an older cross that has nearly oval petals and a rounded cup flare giving it an easy-going form and feeling. Fertile both ways.

An older Duncan seedling, Tiger Moth is consistent with good substance and even color in the not elongated cup. Cyclamineus are a bit more shade tolerant than their taller daffodil relatives.

Possessing a quiet symmetry Tru is a well rounded small cup with a gold-rimmed expression of ardor and surprise.

Will Scarlet has been in the trade as long or longer than any other daffodil cultivar but we seldom see him around any more. Renown for his deep color and vigorous growth he was a commonly grown garden daffodil. Like many first generation crosses Billy boy is the product of two species daffodils : N. abscissus x N. radiiflorus var. poetarum. Being fertile both ways Will was bred a lot in his salad days, not so much lately to our knowledge. Tall and late, good for the border, sparse vista plantings, and cutting. ADS Historic.

Alec Gray bred a lot of terrific miniature small cups : Segovia, Sundisc ; This Daffodil on DaffSeek but Xit has always caught our eye. White blossoms make a cumulus cloud-like display. Exciting in the bed and on the bench, there is a lot of joy to go around. Grows well and can make a tall stem. One of the very best in Narcissusdom.

Like one of our favorites, the miniature and spirited daff Xit, Yellow Xit is just as jubilant as its parent, but as you may surmise it has yellow in the corona. ADS Miniature. Not sure why this does not appear to be an ADS classic.
