When some one asks you to dance, you should always say yes. Especially if it is someone with a colorful and contrasty split-cupped face. With a face like that, oh the stories they can tell. Vigorous white and orange grower from van der Veek.

L'innocence is a compact and floriferous tazetta, likely a poetaz, from a time when there was a lot of breeding going on to make tazettas more hardy. Richly colored, its compact size makes if excellent for pot culture or in the rockery where you don't want overly tall tazetta foliage crashing down on the little neighbors. An ADS historic.

A remarkably bright performer of the pseudo narcissus type. On first glance Little Spell might be mistaken for Gipsy Queen. Lovely little thing. Registered as a Yellow-Yellow, but how is this not a reverse bi-color ?
2 W-Y
We are very enamored with Little Spring King, he is one of Carlo's smaller-sized seedlings.Consistently cute as Prince Harry : royal good posture, radiates confidence and blooms well out of the leaves. A triple threat : good for pot culture, good for the rockery, good for exhibition.
2 W-YYP
An antique pink cup that is lovely in the border, pot and bench. Deeply lobed and frilled cup funnels a sweet perfume that differentiates this happy flower. Color can be variable depending on our spring weather. Smelligant.A perennial favorite.

Love You More ! You Bethca ! A shapely and robust large cupped trumpet from Carlos van der Veek. Lovely ivory white color with fabulous substance. While the perianth may be a bit ribby for the Judges, the overall form of this flower is impressive -- with a little primping I think it has ribbon winning potential. Pricing allows for landscape planting.
2 Y-YOO
The van der Veek bred "Love" series has many flamboyant expressions of love. Loving Her is a pointedly double triangle bloom with overlapping petals and a rich orange snout. Say it loud I am big and proud, and plenty amorous too. Easy to select a perfect bloom.
2 W-YYO
We list more miniature daffodils than pretty much anyone, and not a single one of those miniatures was conceived in the Netherlands. Our Dutch brethren bequeath upon us an impressive array of daffodils of great stature, bright color and breadth of bloom : here is another example of all that Lowland largesse. A very large, muy grande, and colorful, muy colorido, bloom on a landscape-grade stem. Muy Bien, very good! With a little gentle-fingered suppression of the ribby-ness and natural reflex in the perianth Muy Bien can be a competition contender. From Carlos van der Veek.
1 W-WWY
We are running out of synonyms for ostentatious to describe Carlo's lovely seedlings. Superfly, fancy, fancy-pants, yes a fancy-pants trumpet, white until the frilly yellow corona's edge. Vigorous grower, not registered, new introduction in 2023.
2 W-YYP
Stunning and colorful large cup possessing an inner light. I think Nemmemee translates to v¬Ætake me therev‚à Ü, not sure if it is slang, a contraction or a colloquialism. We got taken at first sight.

From an anonymous origin, Orange Queen is a wavy cupped old jonquil . Classified as a dwarf, she is more imposing than implied, freely growing and floriferous to three blooms on a stem. Good North and South. ADS Historic.
1 Y-Y
Carlos' father Karel bred the groundbreakingly frilly and crenate cupped Dutch Crown. And Carlos did top his Pop one better in the well named trumpet Over the Top with more folds than an origami hippopotamus in an oh so sweet mango color. Has a scape like a dandy solicitor's walking stick.
8 Y-Y
Vigorous and consistent, Pacific Coast is a modern tazetta that stands out from the rest. Easy and bright with lots of perfectly formed flowers. A sport of Minnow, Pacific Coast is tall but not rangy, better organized and more substantial. ADS Miniature.
11a Y-P
Papaya King was a street front hot dog stand on 86th street in Manhattan (aka Nieuw Amsterdam) where a student, blue collar or office worker could get a dog and delicious tall Papaya drink for under a dollar. Though now defunct, the thirsty daffodil enthusiast can still get the same refreshing combination in yellow and papaya pink in this new introduction from North Holland. Collared split-cupped crowns held above broad upright leaves on substantial scapes Papaya King should quench multiple appetites : border, bench and vase.

This daffodil is so bright, consistent, spirited and vigorous, on first sight we thought "That puppy is bound for great things". A happy thing we can't wait to pot up this fall. Perfect Ten is a new Veek introduction -- Not registered at this time.

Pipo is a peppy new thing, well rounded with a deep bowl shaped cup all dressed up in citrus-fruit yellow.Blooms shoot up in advance of the foliage. A Dwarf and an Intermediate, we can see it in pot culture, on the Intermediate class bench, or in the managed early spring border.
2 Y-YYO
A Pompiere is a firefighter, narcissus Pompiere is a three-alarm yellow orange cup with a singular profile, with a narrow and extended colorful snout. This is a bloom that we rely on for daffodil shows: returns as a substantial garden plant, great form, easy to pick a winning bloom. A van der Veek seedling.
2 W-YYO
When tulips are fringed, their spiky rims denote them as a Crispin type . But daffodils don't have a cool term like "Crispy" to declare a prickly cup because they didn't need one, until now. Who knows if there are many prickly daffs in our future but Pretty Prickles will certainly be recognized as the first. A rounded white ivory perianth surrounds the mango-colored prickly cup. A strong grower, we previously listed as F129 , not registered.

A North Holland native of imposing size, style and substance, Queen Behaviour is a newly registered double bred by the local legend Jan de Winter. When you transplant this beauty in your garden you too can tell the lesser competitors to sashay away. Cut flower potential.

Rebel Rebel your face is frilly and lobed. I love you so. A recent Cyclamineus introduction from the land of van der Veek.
2 W-GWW
Snowboard is an all around consistent performer . An all-linen-white large cup, this is a hot-dogger daff in the pot, in the border or on the show bench. A bit shorter, it makes a nice cut stem filler. Broad ovate petals and a touch of green in the cup. The dude is a van der Veek seedling.

For no discernible reason it is unusual to see anyone in North Holland wearing a hat. Given the relentless wind and rain it is hard to fathom why, but my Dutch friend claims that he doesn't wear a hat because he doesn't want to go bald. But when the sun comes out in spring and falls on the Netherland's pates there is an outbreak of communal mass ecstasy. The baroque and unbounded joy expressed by the daffodil SunDazed is exemplary: A collision of ivory and mango frills and folds. Like any worthy landscape daffodil it blooms completely out of the leaves. By Carlos van der Veek. This daffodil is unregistered.
2 Y-O
Another muscular and bright trumpet shaped large cup from the van der Veeks, Sunny Sunday is strong on landscape positive attributes: upright, contrasty in color, sun proof, and blooms out of the leaves. The perianth is not too ribby, some grooming you could exhibit it . Newley registered , we offered this daffodil previously as F69.

This trumpet has a very fetching, not sulfury nor school bus yellow color, we have had in the border for around six years, so we were surprised that it became available this season. The cup casts a white penumbra on the petals, but not substantial enough to classify it a reverse bi-color. Booms out of the leaves, Unregistered, we are curious if it will end up as Super Citron, the fruit, rather then Citroen the automobile. (Google refuses to index this webpage as Qdaffs is not registered as an licensed automobile seller.)
2 WWY-O
Here's a compact and sunny daffodil that we are always happy to meetup with in the Spring.. Tangerine Beauty, an intermediate, has a uniquely fruit colored cup . A breathy yellow color brushes across the well-formed white petals. Grows equally well in the North and the deep South. Good on all points.
