April Tears is an Alec Gray cross of species N.jonquilla and N.triandrus. An ol dfavorite of the division. Blooms too late to be of much use above zone 7a, Seed parent to the terrific Tripartite, similar to Hawera. Triandrus seem to prefer slightly acidic soil over alkaline.

Bebob is an Alec Gray miniature Jonquil with rich two-toned yellow color. Ma and Pa Bebop were both species, Daddy appears to be a poeticus. Confident like Mary Lou Williams and punchy like Dizzy Gillespie. Scented and petite.

Honey I shrunk the Trumpets! Alec Gray focused his miniaturization beam on most every division of daffodil. Elka is a perfectly formed white tiny-trumpet that will inspire a lot of bending and craning. She opens yellow but matures to all white. Elka is equally at home in the rockery or on the show bench program. Used in England for pot culture. Named for some daffodil ladies named Elizabeth and Kate. ADS miniature.

Why does Flowmay drive us to such devotion? She is a tiny, miniature jonquilla, all white with an impossibly delicate pink rim on the cup. So improbable a heroine, so hopeful in a world of naysaying giants. Alec Gray named this for the missus. Tiny and rare. ADS Classic.

A cross of two species pseudonarcissus, Gipsy Queen is a soft white and greenish-yellow miniature trumpet from Alec Gray. Queenie is a strong grower and commands attention in the bed, pot or on the bench. Because she blooms so early, we associate her reign with late spring snowfall, but given her lineage she should perform well further south. Alec Gray. ADS Miniature. ADS Classic.

Keats is a strange fellow. But everybody wants him on first sight, us inclusive. Green, yellows and whites you don't see much, like finding a thick book of poetry. I have heard him called everything from "variable" to "unstable" which seems to be reverse doublespeak for "handsome". Enjoy and repeat.
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness." John Keats

A miniature with gigantic star power Segovia shines in the rockery and is indispensable in a collection of miniatures. Always waving and winking the landscape and takes shade remarkably well for us.

Alex Gray was one of the most prolific breeder of daffodils of the mid 20th century. Of his many tiny Jonquils seedlings I like his Stafford the most for its bright color scheme. Take two, they are small. ADS miniature.

On points alone, Alec Gray's Sun Disc is a perfect cultivar : Extremely late, rounded, miniature, long stemmed, long lasting, increases, looks right at you and smells good. Widely available, but we list it because you just need a few to get going. Sells on the cut market when all of the other daffs are long in the tooth.

Alec Gray bred a lot of terrific miniature small cups : Segovia, Sundisc ; This Daffodil on DaffSeek but Xit has always caught our eye. White blossoms make a cumulus cloud-like display. Exciting in the bed and on the bench, there is a lot of joy to go around. Grows well and can make a tall stem. One of the very best in Narcissusdom.

Like one of our favorites, the miniature and spirited daff Xit, Yellow Xit is just as jubilant as its parent, but as you may surmise it has yellow in the corona. ADS Miniature. Not sure why this does not appear to be an ADS classic.
