In the second half of the 20th century crafty humans unlocked the pink gene in the daffodil genome. And things just keep getting pinker in the cup, across many divisions. We include pink coronaed doubles in this category.

But here is the softest colored pink cup ever, and where does it come from ? But straight out of tough guy land. I think our florist friends will swoon and soften for Beau Beauté. She is a bit like High Society that has completed a course of anger management. New introduction from Carlos van der Veek.

Bilbo, named for Bilbo Boggins of the Hobbit, is an older seedling from earlier in the career of the prolific Brian S. Duncan but new to our list in 2026. A pink-cupped daffodil, it is tall for a cyclamineus and can develop wavy character in the blooms. From foundling, but more upright and vigorous.

A newer dwarf double, a stuffed cup like Popeye when he is behaving himself, in delicate cream and pink. This daffodil is unregistered and is being sold elsewhere as Bon Bon, which is ca n'est pas bon ! in our book as Bon Bon is registered as an older Grant Mitsch poeticus. So for the time being we are listing this sweet confection as Bon Bombe : A Bombe being an elaborate and frilly frozen dessert . From a good grower with a great eye for daffs.

A new large cup daffodil from the van der Veeks with an intense deep pink colored corona and pure white mucronate petals . Bregt is recently registered.

Brooke Ager brings a lot of love and excitement wherever she goes. An intermediate, a dwarf and a large cup, she stands out with a substantial and intense rosy pink cup. There is some echo of the cup color into the petals. This well regarded daff a bright and attractive contrast to the rockery and close up beds. The rich colored cup along with a trim rounded perianth and stylish anthers makes her a show bench natural.

Guilty as charged, for unknown reasons we often overlook Little Jewel, but likely due to youthful excess. This daffodil is aptly named and rather unique, being that there are not a lot of fully pink-colored small cups. The father of the fantastic Fencourt Jewel, Little Jewel is a good grower and delicate at the same time -- a very nice bloom.

The classification Jonquils: yellow with pink cups is the most rarefied class. ( I checked the numbers) . Aside from the successful Blushing Lady, Brian Duncan's Love Me Tender is one of the rare examples in commerce. Elvis may have left the building but Love Me Tender is just getting started.

A daughter of Misty Glen with a whisper of a pink mist condensing on the rim. Palheiro is Portuguese for haystack implying, perhaps, the breeder recognized that he had plucked a silvery needle from the bottomless daffodil gene pool. Late Bloomer.

From the cool sands of the Dutch surfside of the English Channel comes this baroque and lusty Yellow and Pink split cup. Some of our favorite Split cups look like they are exhausted at the end of the blooming day after trying to hold their fancy faces erect on wimpy stems. Peach on the Beach has stiff scapes that are well-matched to holding the intermediate blooms aloft.

The soft pink in the cup is a bluish-pink if you know what we mean.We have a few more to offer this year.

A remarkable pink cup, Precocious is well-named, well-rounded, deeply colored, tall and late. She can be a bit variable in form and color, but always a fabulous bloom. Being 50 years old, Precocious is a bit of a misnomer.

Robustian is a well-named pink cup -he does sport an overall robust feeling and throws a bloom of great substance. We think that there is likely no-end to the depth of pink color you may coax from the cup if you can supply cool, cool Northern-Ireland-like nights while Robustian is in bud.

An older Duncan seedling, Tiger Moth is consistent with good substance and even color in the not elongated cup. Cyclamineus are a bit more shade tolerant than their taller daffodil relatives.
