In an average lifespan, if you had a million kisses to either give or receive, that would be 34 a day, or about two every waking hour of every day, which would be a very pleasant experience. A Million Kisses daffodil is also a pleasant show of affection – bred in the English Channel islands it puckers up with very round and overlapping white segments with a flattened yellow and broad -orange-banded frilly cup. Freshly registered, AMK is a child of Jersey Lace.

A recent yellow and white triandrus with modulating colors on its way to the final chorus. Floriferous, scented, and substantial with lovely color. A reverse bi-color. From Chipper , inherits the lovely velvety substance. Named after the Beatles record album released in 1969.
A record album was a disc that stored music and aural data in wavy grooves embossed in vinyl. See also the Fab Four.

A recently introduced double that is most like a lotus blossom when it opens a mild- yellow with an alluring symmetry. As Ambon matures into clear white and yellow it gets wide and wild. You will easily be able to select a very stunning bloom. Best as a stem, in the landscape Ambon blooms a bit in the leaves. This Daffodil is named for a city in the Moluccas in Indonesia, once a Dutch colony.

Amore Mio. Lovely and lush pink cupped Jonquilla. Floriferous. Recent van der Veek Introduction.

Just when I swore off of yellow orange cups along comes a colorful and deep cupped modern Jonquilla. Anfield is such a happy fellow I am committed to finding him good homes, perhaps adjacent to yours. Scented, two blooms to a scape, bulbs tend to make a plethora of scapes. From the likewise prolific Walter Blom. Ample stocks.

A new introduction, Arctic Bells is a bulbocodium from Walter Blom. It is classified as a Yellow-Yellow, but it is more of a white flower, in the way that White petticoat is white. We were surprised to see the seed parent is the perfect bloomer “Border Beauty”, picture attached. Who would think of that ?

Here's a lively new bulbocodium introduction. Cup is lightly ribbed. She is not registered as such, but for the time being we are listing it as Ballroom Belle. It was acquired as Blom Hoop 2 - 146.

The daffodil diggers of North Holland consider themselves to be tough guys. It is never good to be “soft” and they will let you know it, early and often. But here is the softest colored pink cup ever, and where does it come from but straight out of tough guy land. I think my florist friends will swoon and soften for Beau Beauté. She is a bit like High Society that has completed a course in anger management. Really remarkable color. New introduction from Carlos van der Veek.

Burgerbrug is a town in north Holland that is a hotbed of daffodil culture. Burgerbrug translates loosely to “The Citizen’s Bridge”. Unless you go down to the actual bridge, which is a kind of floating, single-lane drawbridge contraption, then you are in the neighborhood of “Burgervlotbrug” - The Citizen’s Floating Bridge. Not for the faint of heart.
This is Carlo’s encomium to his hometown and I am genuinely stunned at its beauty, an overlapping perianth update to Queen of the North, or something along those lines. New Introduction in 2023. Good stock.

Bell Fly is a recent posthumous introduction from Walter Blom, and what a high-spirited cyclamineus it is. Dare we say that it is broader, longer and more zippy than daffodil Iwona that we love so much ? Not pink, but orange cupped. An early dwarf, vigorous. We are unable to determine the origin of the name. Limited stock.

A flamboyant, substantial, and free spirited double, Bella Ciao is a recent van der Veek introduction. Large blooms, a good grower, currently rare and limited but she has higher aspirations.
We are partial to the Yves Montand version (yes Yves was Italian).
And the people who shall pass

Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!

Will tell me: "what a beautiful flower"

This recent Mark Vandervliet double is not registered, and being a flower previously unseen I was perplexed by the size of the bulb, a really big bulb. The double flower is equally as big and supremely well organized and detailed. Like many sumo-sized doubles she blooms in the leaves a bit, so better for the vase and the bench than the border. I would like to have a platoon of Big Girls.

This bulbocodium has very long petals, soft color and a bit of the petunia shape in the cup that is sought after by breeders and benchers. Extended stamens and stigma. Not registered.

A Palomino horse has a single “cream” gene. Cremellos have two. The van der Veek stables have bred a lot of terrific trumpets, or near trumpets that are great in the landscape and not at all like the usual trumpet fare on the bench. We just fell head over heels, or rather hoof over fetlock for Cremello, a color so soft as not to detract from the muscular shape. New introduction.

The condor is the largest land bird of the species, but darkly colored and ugly. El Condor is perhaps the largest cyclamineus cultivar, but bright and lovely and aerodynamic as the bird. A recent van der Veek introduction.

A love-child of Serena Beach , Falling for You is more tousled- haired and freer in spirit. Where did such a romantic name come from ? Not overly complicated, Falling for You is a large and substantive white / yellow double daffodil.
